Tashkent zoo presents the exhibition of exotic insects

The exhibition presents about 900 tropical insects, belonging to 400 species and subspecies. Of them, 37 species of beetles. Most of the collection – the representatives of South America and South-East Asia, there are also interesting specimens of the fauna of Africa and North America. This is reported by press service of the zoo. 

Total collection consists of around 1500 species of invertebrates of the world fauna. Fascinated by insects since childhood, Sergey’s first collection was collected in Turkmenistan. 

After graduating from the biology faculty of Tashkent state University, he worked at the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and the last 15 years, directs the Department of “Invertebrates” of the Tashkent zoo.
