Gur Emir (15th century)
Gur-Emir translated, as «tomb of the emir» is the tomb of Tamerlane and other members of his dynasty (Shаhrukh, Miranshаh, Ulugbek, Muhammad Sultan and others).
Previously, the complex included khanaka, madrassah and the tomb of Tamerlane’s descendants.
Today, in the mausoleum there are tombs and burial that are located themselves in the basement.
Only once, in 1941 Tamerlane’s tomb was opened, and after this event was born a famous legend of the beginning of the Second World War.
