In the 9th century, Abdi-Darunee, in whose honor was named the mausoleum in Samarkand served as a judge due to his extensive knowledge of the Sharia and the Quran.

Today the restored mausoleum (the 15th century) is not similar to the original view.

This building is also a place of pilgrimage for Muslims.
