Ark Fortress represents the government. For several centuries, it was the main residence of Bukhara rulers. However, in addition to the emirs, there worked such scientists and thinkers as Avicenna, Omar Khayyam, Farabi, Ferdowsi, Rudaki.

The inner part of today’s Arch, occupying an area of ​​about 4 hectares, consists of several buildings: the mosque of Ulduhtaron and Jomi, mint bath.
