Kokand as the capital of Kokand Khanate (18-19 centuries) in the past was religion center of the Valley. That’s why, there are many madrasahs, mausoleums and mosques here (madrasah Norbuta biy, Djuma mosque and minaret, mausoleum Modirakhan, Khudayarkhan Palace, madrasah Kamol Kazi and necropol Dakhma-i-Shakhon).
