One of the most well-known Uzbek artists Yusufjon Shokirjonov lived a long life. He was born in 1869 in an old town of Marghilon, Fargona region and died in 1959 at the age of 90. He was a skilled joker. People gave him a stage-name "Yusufjon Qiziq Shakarjonov", or simply "Yusufjon Qiziq". Those who lived at his time know him to be always joyful for all his lifetime. A number of books and articles were devoted to his life and activity.
Yusufjon Qiziq liked to say "A man who makes merry is a long-liver", in other words, laughing prolongs a man's life.
It is widely known that one of the ways of being merry is, of course, to joke. So Yusufjon Qiziq, was often joking, making merry and as a result he lived for nearly a century. He made people laugh in different regions. By the way, Yusufjon Qiziq visited London in 1937 in the group of Uzbek artists. He was the People's Artist of Uzbekistan.
