Ingredients:
350 gr of walnuts with removed shell, 300 gr of melted butter, 300 gr
of sugar powder, 400 gr of honey, salt by taste, vitellus (for greasing)
For
unleavened dough: 2 eggs, 200-250 ml of milk, 600-700 gr of flour, 30 gr
of sugar, a pinch of salt
Preparation:
Make unleavened dough. Put the eggs to the dish. Mix them.
Add milk, flour,
salt and make stiff dough.
Roll out the dough onto 6-8 pieces each of 150 gr. Whisk
it in form of balls and put them to the preparation table. Dry the kernels of walnuts
on a frying-pan, mince them, add sugar-powder and mix it all. Roll out one of the
dough pieces, put it on buttered frying-pan, butter from above, strew with
grinded walnuts with sugar. Than roll out the following piece of dough, put it
to the first one, butter again and strew with minced walnuts. Repeat these
actions with every piece of dough. Prepared in this way pakhlava grease with
whisked and watered egg from above. Put into the oven on 10-15 minutes. Than take it out of the oven, cut it in form of cubicles or rhombs (dont
cut the last layer), fill in the cuts with melted butter and put it into oven
again on 10-15 minutes. Separately boil the honey, so it becomes watery. Before
the end of baking take pakhlava out of the oven, cover it with warm watery
honey and again put it into oven on 30-40 minutes. Divide prepared pakhlava one
from another in previously cut places, leave it for chilling and serve.
