The nature of Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan — a wonderful warm region, which is characterized by a variety of natural areas.

The Republic of Uzbekistan is located between two rivers Amudarya and Syrdarya and occupies an area of 447,4 thousand square km, the length of the country from West to East is 1,425 kilometers and from North to South is 930 kilometers.

The climate of Uzbekistan is sharply continental. Drought, arid desert regions of our country has taught people to appreciate the source of water, each canal and ditch. There are a lot of hills and Rocky Mountains, deserts or plains, and lush oases, small mountain stream in our country.

There are a very few lakes in the Republic. The largest of them is the Aral, as it occupies a large area. In the present time Uzbekistan is a remarkable country with beautiful landscapes.

There are a lot of cities in antiquity were located on the Great Silk Road, on the road between East and West, on which caravans with goods. A great environmental disaster was the destruction of the Aral sea. This happened due to the fact that the waters of the Amu Darya and Syr Darya were allocated to the channels.
